Sasha Reid

Sasha’s was born in Jamaica and attended both the basic and primary school. Her passion for the school and community led her to create the forum for like minded individuals to begin the dialogue around doing something meaningful for the community. Sasha is responsible for planting the seed that would later become marlihill.org.

She is very proud of the feedback and response the foundation has received. Marliehill.org will ultimately be the beacon of hope for the children in the community.

Sheldon Christian

Sheldon grew up in Manchester, Jamaica and lived a memorable childhood before residing in Toronto for the past 19 years. He has never forgotten his roots and enjoys visiting every chance he gets. During his many visits to Jamaica he has always wanted to do something meaningful for the school. The formation of MarlieHill.org with other like minded individuals will be a terrific way to give back to the community. He is thrilled to be apart of Marliehill.org and look forward to contributing to the betterment of the Children in the community.

Maxine Chang Reyes

Maxine, a home grown native who attended both Marlie Hill Basic and Primary schools. She migrated to South Florida, U.S.A and is currently an active volunteer for different causes in her community. She has never forgotten her roots in Marlie Hill. Maxine and her husband started the Doctor Bird Scholarship Award (DBSA), which supports scholastic accomplishments by students of the Primary school. Together they have made personal donations to the school annually, since 2000.

Maxine’s goal for the newly formed marliehill.org is to motivate everyone she knows to support the foundation in order to provide essential learning resources for current and future students. Maxine believes that knowing others care, and having the support of marliehill.org, these future leaders will become more motivated to excel in all opportunities afforded to them and become successful in their future endeavors.

Simply put “there is really no place like home”. MarlieHill.org provides an opportunity for her to give back to the school and community.

Winston Morrison

Mr. Morrison was born in Jamaica and started his teaching career at Marlie Primary School. During his teaching tenure at the school he had a very positive relationship with the community and children from the area. He has always felt connected to the community and as a result was eager to provide his thoughtful leadership to the foundation.

We thank Mr. Morrison for his assistance in building a strong framework that will allow us to be successful in empowering our children to reach for the stars.

Sybil Christian

Sybil was born in Jamaica and is a past student of Marlie Hill school. She is a proud jamaican who travels to Jamaica often. She has always wanted to give back to the community. Being a part of marliehill.org provides her with that opportunity – The children are the future and we need to motivate and support them in order to see meaningful change. She is very excited about this initiative and believes we will make a difference for the students.
